If you have ever considered creating your own websites or opening your own web design business I have good news for you.
That has just become a whole lot easier to do! And you can thank WordPress for that.
There are many excellent content management scripts out there, such as Joomla, Drupal and Moodle just to name a few. But the problem is that they have a big learning curve to get started because they are very complex scripts.
However WordPress has made this a lot simpler. You see WordPress already has some of the features of a content management system built right into it. All we need to do is add some more functionality, which I am happy to say, is free!
WordPress is already a specialized kind of content management system for blogging. However we just need to add to this framework to make it into a great generalized content management system.
But what is a content management system? Here is a short
definition courtesy of Webopedia:
A content management system is software or a group or suite of applications and tools that enable an organization to seamlessly create, edit, review and publish electronic text.
So basically we need to be able to restrict content to certain users to certain sections of our site. We also need to be able to tailor what they can do in these sections.
Luckily this is not as complicated as it sounds. By implementing a content management system into web design you can create websites that will perfectly suit your needs or the needs of your clients. And it doesn’t cost one cent to do it.
This video series is going to show you everything you need to know about setting up
